ABOUT PETER
Planning Director

In a career spanning over 30 years, Peter has worked with some of the UK’s leading main contractors developing his extensive planning experience, both in the UK construction sector and in the Middle East. He has frequently been in a lead planning role and has managed teams of planners on several major projects. He is fully committed to the Metisplan ethos of bringing added value to clients.

Having worked on a number of major projects in the range of £250m to £500m, Peter has gained experience in complex projects such as hospital construction. His work has spanned a variety of construction sectors including historic refurbishment, commercial, residential, health and aviation industries.

Peter has acquired a wealth of experience in all stages of the planning process. This includes preconstruction from developing scheme appraisals to a prequalification. In the construction cycle, Peter has frequently been in a lead planning role onsite; producing key contract programmes through to reporting progress to clients and internal teams alike.  Finally, within the post-construction stage, Peter has used forensic analysis and other techniques in demonstrating entitlement to forums such as contract administrators, dispute resolution boards and adjudications.

In the capacity of a lead planner, Peter has been responsible for the development of other teams members, to encourage their progress and to instil best practise within the team.  This is an essential part of his role in Metisplan, developing our team and providing support whilst members of staff are engaged in client assignments.

He has experience of many of the contract forms utilized in construction both in the UK and internationally. This includes the JCT forms, both traditional and design-and-build, various options of the NEC 3 form, as well as Construction Management. Internationally this also includes variants of the FIDIC Red Book.
